Gowrie Housing Trust (renamed Hillcrest Enterprises Ltd, as of 1st April 2013) was formed in 1989 to provide housing solutions for people with particular needs, sourcing a grant mechanism unavailable to housing associations – Special Needs Capital Grant (SNCG). GHT joined the Hillcrest group in 2007. GHT has developed a range of properties during the years from group homes to dispersed individual flats. These are located in Tayside and Fife meeting specific needs that cannot be met by Hillcrest Housing Association.
Hillcrest Enterprises as a non-registered, non-charitable landlord provides a way for the Group to meet its strategic objective of providing open market rent properties as part of meeting demand across the board. In conjunction with Northern Housing Company, Hillcrest Enterprises develops mid-market and open market rented properties within developments.
Hillcrest Enterprises launched Right Recruitment in April 2012, specialising in social care, nursing and medical recruitment. Right Recruitment is a social enterprise venture with all profits being reinvested back into the Hillcrest group through Craigowl Communities. |
