Winter's snow joke for ambulance and Charter staff
|
| Wednesday 13th January 2010 |
Staff at Charter Housing came to the aid of stranded ambulance workers last week, as they struggled to operate in the wintry conditions.
Trapped and unable to leave their depot because of heavy snow and treacherous driving conditions, Trinity Way ambulance staff went across to Hindle House, Charter's regional office, to ask if anyone could help.
Without delay Adrian Hipkiss, Charter's responsive maintenance manager rallied the troops and within minutes six members of their internal maintenance service were busy shovelling snow and gritting the roads.
After an hour of hard work, the ambulance depot was fully accessible and medical staff were able to go about their jobs.
Matt Newbrook, ambulance technician said, "I'd like to say a big thank you to the Charter Housing staff for showing such tremendous community spirit and helping our team! It is very much appreciated, thank you." |
