Two Ticks for mhs homes

Wednesday 14th April 2010
Jobcentre Plus have awarded the mhs homes group with its "Two Ticks" Positive About Disabled People symbol.

The symbol recognises an employer's commitment to the recruiting, training, career development and retaining of disabled people.

Jan Morrison Jobcentre Plus Advisory Services Manager, presented the award to Ashley Hook, Chief Executive of mhs homes .

She said: "Achieving the disability symbol is a testament to the commitment of all staff and means that mhs homes welcomes job applications from all people, regardless of any disability.

"Jobcentre Plus works closely with employers to ensure that disabled people have the opportunity to apply for vacancies and that jobs go to the most suitable person, based on their ability."

Employers who use the Two Ticks symbol have made a commitment that they are positive about employer disabled people.

Christine Treadwell at mhs homes said: "The mhs homes group will now be able to use this disability symbol as a flag to show we have a positive attitude towards job applications from people with disabilities. It means that we are positive about employing disabled people and will keep the five commitments to employ, keep and develop the abilities of staff with disabilities."
