Trust celebrates its achievements at AGM
|
| Friday 7th October 2011 |
Customers, staff and representatives from a variety of local groups and organisations joined together to celebrate Halton Housing Trust's achievements over the past 12 months.
More than 60 people attended the Trust's AGM including Board Members, employees, customers, representatives from several other housing providers, Widnes Vikings, Riverside College as well as the charities they have supported over the past year.
"We wanted to do something different this year to bring together the various organisations and individuals who have supported the Trust on its journey over the past 12 months to say thank you. We also wanted to use the opportunity to celebrate some of our successes as well as outlining our plans for the year ahead," said Chief Executive Nick Atkin.
Nick spoke at the AGM - held at the Catalyst Museum on Wednesday, September 28th - alongside the Chair of the Board, Ingrid Fife. The event was also used the launch the Trust's Annual Report.
John Denny, Chief Executive of Chester and District Housing Trust, was the guest speaker and gave his perspective on the changes the housing sector has undergone in the past year and how CDHT has responded to these.
Among the successes highlighted by Nick Atkin in his report was the ongoing charity work the Trust carries out, which has totaled more than £150,000 over the past five years. The Trust also highlighted how it had made efficiency savings totaling over £300,000.
The benefits of the Trust's partnerships with local organisations - such as the Widnes Vikings and the Credit Union - were also highlighted.
"There are many different ways the Trust makes a difference to the local community and the AGM was an opportunity to review those achievements and explain in more detail the work that we have done over the past year," said Nick Atkin. |
