Success for Sanctuary apprenticeship programme

Jane Peters, employer services director for the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) in the West Midlands, visited the Sanctuary Group to learn more about the organisation’s extensive apprenticeship opportunities.

Jane showed her support for the leading housing provider’s expanding apprenticeship programme, which is nurturing talent nationwide. As part of the visit to the Worcester-based head office, Jane met with apprentices, managers and mentors to hear first hand about the programme and its success to date.

She said: “Sanctuary has an excellent approach to apprenticeships and has wholeheartedly embedded the programme within the organisation. Apprentices are not seen as an ‘add on’ but as an integral part of the business.

“We want to encourage more companies to take Sanctuary’s lead and ultimately use the apprenticeship programme as the foundation to their organisation’s development and as a building tool for the future.”

Sanctuary apprenticeship schemes, which are up and running in a number of business areas across the UK, include business administration, finance, IT and health and social care. Apprenticeships in horticulture, housing and maintenance operations are currently being added.

Successful candidates take part in nationally recognised development frameworks, which help them to build their confidence and gain valuable on-the-job experience whilst studying for qualifications.
