Stonham HomeStay launch
|
| Thursday 25th October 2007 |
Reaching out to the people of Norfolk: Stonham HomeStay launch.
This Thursday sees the official launch of Stonham Norfolk HomeStay, a service which provides care and support to hundreds of vulnerable people across the county.
The event comprises a series of presentations at Blackfriars Hall in Norwich followed by a buffet lunch and networking at the Stonham HomeStay Office in St Benedict's Street . Jo Huxtable, Stonham's Area Business Manager for Norfolk and Suffolk, and Chris Greenhill, the Strategic Coordinator for Norfolk Supporting People, will both be giving presentations on HomeStay's success since its launch and plans for the future.
Guests attending the lunch will also have the chance to meet some of the clients who have been supported by HomeStay.
The Stonham HomeStay service was launched in April 2007, and works to support people across Norfolk who are at risk of losing their home or who need help with settling into their home or maintaining a tenancy.
The service caters for people from all walks of life who are in need of some support. Some examples of our client group include those who have experienced a relationship breakdown, people with debt problems, people who are living with mental health issues or those fleeing domestic violence.
Support workers from the service help clients to settle into their homes and develop independent living skills, and also provide help with domestic tasks such as form-filling, budgeting, and paying bills.
HomeStay also acts as an access point which puts clients in touch with other community services and provides advice and information on training and employment opportunities.
Chris Greenhill from Norfolk Supporting People said: ""We have worked closely with Stonham on this project and I have been impressed by their commitment. Responses and feedback from stakeholders as well has been positive, and we are very pleased with the increased number of referrals." |
