South Liverpool Housing win award for Excellence

South Liverpool Housing (SLH) has scooped a top award for Best Practice in Housing at a business awards ceremony on Thursday 15th October.

SLH picked up the honour at the prestigious North of England Business Excellence Awards 2010, held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on Thursday 14 October.

The Best Practice Award for Housing was introduced this year to recognise organisations judged to be best in class in terms of leadership, management and customer satisfaction. This award recognises the great strides the organisation has made to dramatically turn around its fortunes over the past five years. In particular the judges praised the group's chief executive Julie Fadden who they said had turned an organisation that was judged to be failing into one that is now recognised as one of the fastest improving housing associations in the country.

Tony Russell, SLH Director of Corporate Services who picked up the award said "This award caps an excellent year for South Liverpool Housing. Earlier this year the independent Audit Commission scored SLH's prospects for improvement as excellent, the highest possible rating we could have received, and our recent tenant survey tells us that 85% of tenants are satisfied with the services they receive from us."
