Severnside wins 'Highly Commended' at excellence awards

Severnside Housing, Shropshire area's largest social landlord, has been presented with the Highly Commended Award at the prestigious Midlands Excellence Awards, in recognition of excellent organisational performance.
The award was presented by Olympic gold-medallist James Cracknell at a glittering black-tie awards ceremony held at Birmingham ICC (Thursday 21 January).
Severnside was among nine midlands organisations that were shortlisted for the Midlands Excellence Awards, including an accountancy firm, a school, a building society and two registered social landlords.
The housing association was awarded Investors in Excellence accreditation last January, recognising that they are committed to providing excellent services in the most cost effective and efficient way, and is among the most efficient and focused organisations in the country.
Following on from the accreditation, Severnside completed a submission for the Excellence Award, detailing how the company's procedures and results make them exemplars of excellence. As a result of this, Midlands Excellence Assessors completed a detailed on-site assessment of the organisation, leading to being shortlisted for the award.
The assessment also included detailed feedback, including strengths and opportunities for improvement, against 32 criteria drawn from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQN) Framework, which will be used to ensure continuous improvement at Severnside.

Our journey to excellence has been a useful learning process, and we are really pleased to have taken part, and to receive this important recognition. Ultimately, the work we do is for the benefit of our tenants and this award shows them that Severnside is up there with the very best organisations in the Midlands." |
