Saxon Weald successful in Transfer of Riverside Group homes
|
| Monday 26th January 2009 |
272 properties, formerly owned by The Riverside Group, have successfully transferred to Sussex-based housing association, Saxon Weald Homes Ltd. Saxon Weald purchased the properties as part of The Riverside Group's stock rationalisation programme, with the deal completing on Monday 19 January 2009.
The homes are based firmly within Saxon Weald's south coast area of operations, including properties in Southampton, Emsworth, Bognor Regis, Arundel, Worthing,
Brighton and Lewes.
David Standfast, Chief Executive, said: "We believe the geographical location of our existing homes and offices, combined with a commitment to excellent customer service,
made us the ideal choice to take on these homes. We are confident that our experience and enthusiasm will result in a great local service for these new residents."
James Hill, The Riverside Group's director of property strategy said: "Working with our tenants, we are pleased to have chosen Saxon Weald as preferred landlord for our south coast properties. We believe they will provide an excellent, locally-based service moving forward. The transfer fits in with our stock rationalisation strategy, enabling Riverside to focus on its key neighbourhoods in the future."
The Riverside Group's rationalisation programme is designed to give them a stock portfolio which is better aligned with their priority areas of operation, while improving management services to tenants by working with organisations better placed to deliver such services.
The deal brings Saxon Weald's total number of homes in management up to around 5500 properties, all within the Sussex and Hampshire areas. |
