Sanctuary scoops Apprentice Employer award
|
| Saturday 20th November 2010 |
Leading UK housing and care provider Sanctuary Group has been recognised for its apprenticeship programme after scooping a top accolade at the Worcestershire Group Training Association (WGTA) Apprenticeship Awards.
The WGTA Apprenticeship Awards is an annual event that brings together trainees, parents, company representatives and local dignitaries to acknowledge success in vocational training through apprenticeship programmes which are designed to prepare young people for key jobs in local business.
Sanctuary was selected as the winner of the coveted 2010 Apprentice Employer award for its continued support and commitment to the apprenticeship programme.
Established in 2007, Sanctuary's UK-wide apprenticeship programme helps provide support to the different business operations across the Group. Successful candidates take part in specifically designed programmes, which give them the opportunity to study for practical qualifications and gain on the job experience whilst building their confidence and self esteem.
The Group currently has a number of programmes up and running in several business areas including finance, IT, business administration, health, social care, housing, maintenance operations, and the most recently launched horticultural scheme.
Along with the various programmes, Sanctuary has also developed a specific apprenticeship website, www.sanctuary-apprenticeships.co.uk, where applicants can find out about the various courses on offer and apply online.
Elizabeth Mountford, Sanctuary's Group Director - Organisational Development, said: "We are very pleased to receive this prestigious award recognising our apprenticeship scheme. As a key platform of Sanctuary's development plan for our staff, it is the successful delivery of this agenda that enables us to provide a consistently high standard of service to our customers." |
