SBH introduce new ‘on the phone and in the home’ service

Local people are set to benefit from an improved range of opportunities to access the services Sedgefield Borough Homes (SBH) delivers.
Shortly after transfer SBH carried out a comprehensive consultation exercise with local people and the results showed that an overwhelming majority prefer to access SBH services ‘on the phone and in the home’. In response, SBH has carried out a full review of existing access arrangements and is currently tailoring them to meet people’s needs. Their initial focus being on offering more home visits, improving telephone access, introducing easier ways to pay rent and developing online services.
Alan Boddy, Director of Corporate Services for SBH says, “We have always been committed to delivering high quality services direct to our local communities, but we are always looking for ways to improve. I’m delighted that by offering our new ‘on the phone and in the home’ service, people will have more opportunities to access services directly via home visits, on the phone and through the SBH website“.
The customer access improvements will be phased in this year and SBH will give regular updates as services are introduced.
