Residents at Tramways in Chatham receive a helping hand from Orbit South's Estate Services

Residents living at Tramways in Chatham, Kent had the opportunity to learn more about the services they receive from their housing provider, Orbit South.
Members of Orbit South's Estate Services Team went out into the neighbourhood so that they could meet with residents in a fun and friendly environment, discuss any local issues and address any questions that residents had about the services they receive.
In addition to providing information about estate services, the team also brought along the grounds maintenance contractors, KCC Landscapes, who setup an impressive display of their services and worked on the estate, including evening out the surface of the local play area. Staff from Orbit also helped remove some graffiti and completed an estate inspection.
Orbit South also donated some plants and gardening supplies to help to make the local community look a little brighter for the summer. Staff worked directly with young people to create some lovely planters for the neighbourhood. Some younger residents even made flower planters for older residents and those who were unwell.
"We were pleased to meet the residents that came out on the day," says Karen Williams, Head of Estate Services for Orbit South. "Everyone had a nice time, we got to know our residents a little bit better and it was great to see the young people get involved with the planters and making them for their neighbours."
Tramways is a housing scheme that consists of 60 homes for affordable rent. The scheme consists of flats, terraced houses and semi-detached properties. Orbit South has owned and managed the homes since 2000.
Resident Involvement Week is a week long celebration event that ran from 27 May to 3 June 2011. Throughout the week events were held to engage with residents, increase awareness of engagement opportunities and encourage residents to become more actively involved in their communities on a more regular basis. |
