| Tuesday 21st July 2009 |
Robert Whyte House and the Asian Womens' Refuge have scored the highest scores possible in their recent Quality Assessment Framework inspections.
Robert Whyte House, based in Bickley, Kent provides extra care sheltered accommodation for elderly people and was inspected by the Council against six categories: needs and risk assessment, health and safety, protection from abuse, fair access, diversity and inclusion and complaints.
Open since March 2008 the Asian Womens' Refuge also underwent the same type of inspection but with seven categories, it achieved seven As.
A Quality Assessment Framework inspection looks for evidence that the residents are achieving economic wellbeing, staying and feeling safe, making health improvements or staying healthy, making a positive contribution and enjoying life as well as being supported by sound policies and procedures.
Linda Lawless, Project Manager for Robert Whyte House said: " Scoring A is a very high achievement in the sheltered housing industry and is a testament to the commitment of the staff, including the kitchen staff who also achieved the highest 5 Star award from Environmental Health. Our residents also enjoy a friendly relaxed atmosphere in surroundings that give the opportunity for many social events, including one recently from the Guildhall School of music, garden parties and many trips of their choice."
Alina Kaur, Project Manager for the Asian Womens' Refuge said: "The inspection results along with our Helping and Caring Award that we also received this year reflect the commitment and hard work done by everyone involved with the Refuge, we are very proud of our frist year's achievements." |
