As a founder member of CHIC (Central Housing Investment Consortium), L&H Homes is delighted to announce that the consortium has been shortlisted at the forthcoming Housing Innovation Awards.
CHIC is one of five entrants to be considered for the "Most Innovative Procurement Model" award. The awards are now in their ninth year, having been established to recognise outstanding work undertaken in the housing sector to improve the lives of people in their local communities.
Richard Tweddell, Head of Property Services at L&H Homes, said: "CHIC members have reported savings of over a million pounds this financial year, with even greater savings anticipated in the coming months.
"It is fantastic news that the collective efforts of all involved have once again been recognised externally as a model of best practice."
The nomination follows CHIC's recent success at the 2011 UK Housing Awards where the consortium was highly commended in the "Delivering Efficiency and Value for Money" award category.
CHIC, a limited company, was set up in 2010. It works to reduce procurement costs and deliver cashable savings through a consortium approach to purchasing. CHIC was the first such consortium to be approved by the Homes and Communities Agency, from which it received business plan funding. CHIC's members and partner consortia manage over 300,000 homes and have exceeded their business plan target by securing an average of circa 25% savings across materials purchasing.
The Housing Innovation Awards will be held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London on March 1st, 2012.
