Endeavour Housing Association, in partnership with Stockton Borough Council are delighted to hand over the keys to the first tenants of its new service for Older People within Hardwick.
Ruskin Court is part of the multi-million pound regeneration of the Hardwick area, now renamed Hardwick Green.
The service offers 20, 2 bed roomed apartments, 15 of these apartments will be linked to Endeavours flagship Extra Care Service, Aspen Gardens. Anyone who is assessed as needing our services can receive floating support, domiciliary care, telecare monitoring and handyperson services. Loneliness and isolation is a real issue for many Older People and we can work hard to combat this. We will enable people to access our community facilities and enhance their social lives. We will link people into our Bistro so they can receive healthy, tasty food at subsidised prices. In addition our Tenants can benefit from our Handyperson service who can provide a speedy repairs service and services to help people move into their new homes with minimum stress i.e. easing doors, fixing up curtain poles, moving furniture etc.
Not all Tenants will need this enhanced service however if their needs change we will be able to support them to remain in their new homes. This is very important to Older People who want their independence maintained.
Aspen Gardens opened its doors in 2007 and proved so popular that Endeavour and Stockton Borough Council wanted to extend its services to ensure more Older People could benefit. The new service enables us to offer accommodation to people with higher level support needs and also prevent people from having to move on if their needs increase. |
