New Residents Resource Centre offers great facilities

Monday 17th March 2008
A new Residents Resource Centre in Shepway, Maidstone, will be officially opened by Deputy Mayor Cllr Denise Joy on Friday 14 March at 2pm. The venue has been created by Maidstone Housing Trust for local community groups.

The Residents Resource Centre provides space for meetings, along with facilities for training events and office services. The Centre has been developed in consultation with Maidstone Residents Group, who hold their monthly meetings at the centre and offer a drop-in information service for Trust customers.

The Centre provides an office base in the heart of Shepway for the local Community Development Worker, and Police Community Support Officers.

Ken Stevens, Chair of Maidstone Residents Group, said “I’m delighted with the Residents Resource Centre, it’s a convenient space which the whole community can share”.

Mark Barnes, Maidstone Housing Trust Director of Housing added “We are pleased this Resource Centre will be available to so many local people and partner organisations. It is further evidence of our commitment to investing in Maidstone communities”
