| Friday 16th September 2011 |
Homes in Sedgemoor have created an innovative partnership with the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, to help promote home fire safety, increase awareness and therefore reduce fires.
The new partnership will see joint working with the fire and rescue service, to promote fire safety to residents through events, information, and advice. Staff will also be trained in basic fire safety awareness so that they can take an active role in spreading the message about the importance of fire safety.
Director of Resources at Homes in Sedgemoor, Dawn Lang, said: 'Safety is one of our top priorities and this partnership will be a real benefit to our residents. Whilst we do everything we can to ensure our homes are safe and the risk of fire is minimal, it is also important that people take responsibility for fire safety in the home. The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service will help us to provide top quality fire safety advice and services to residents.'
Chris Hole from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "This partnership will enable our organisation to promote fire safety in properties that have been difficult for us to access in the past. This will help us to create and deliver safer communities in the Sedgemoor area by working together with Homes in Sedgemoor. |
