New Maidstone Housing Trust Homes Completed

Monday 17th March 2008
Maidstone Housing Trust is celebrating the completion of seven new two- and three-bedroom homes. The homes, in the Park Wood area of Maidstone, will be handed over to new tenants in the next few weeks.

Designed and project managed by the Trust’s Development Team, the homes meet the Secure By Design standard, and are rated as ‘Very Good’ on the EcoHomes scale. The homes have been built by building contractor Osbornes on a former under-used garage site owned by the Trust, with funding from Maidstone Borough Council and the Housing Corporation.

All of the families moving into the new homes are from the Council’s Homeless Risk list, and will be asked to sign up to a Good Neighbour Agreements, outlining a code of behaviour.

Maidstone Housing Trust Development Manager Brendan Ferrill said: “These seven homes are the last of several small developments throughout the Park Wood area, providing twenty-seven much needed homes for families at risk of becoming homeless.”
