New Chief Executive appointed for Hillingdon

New Chief Executive appointed for the London Borough of Hillingdon.

Hugh Dunnachie has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the London Borough of Hillingdon.

Hugh's career at Hillingdon started in November 2003, when he was appointed Corporate Director of Social Services. In October 2004 he became Corporate Director of Housing and Social Services and was then appointed as the Acting Chief Executive in October 2006.

Hugh commented: "I am delighted to have the opportunity to build on the achievements that Hillingdon Council has made in recent years through the council's improvement initiative the Hillingdon Improvement Programme.

"I am passionate in my commitment to the people of the borough and working with the council's administration, my job is to ensure that residents receive excellent services from a modern and well-managed council."

Hugh started his social work career as an unqualified social worker for the London Borough of Richmond. After qualifying, he worked for Windsor and Maidenhead and Slough, where he was promoted to Assistant Director of Social Services. He was Chief Inspector and Head of Quality Assurance at Berkshire County Council and finally Deputy Director of Social Services there. Prior to coming to the London Borough of Hillingdon, Hugh was the Director of Housing and Social Services at Luton Borough Council.

Hugh will takes up his position with immediate effect.
