NEW PLAY EQUIPMENT FOR BOSTON'S FENSIDE

Wednesday 16th June 2010
CHILDREN in Boston will now have more play options thanks to Boston Mayflower.
The housing association made a successful bid to The Big Lottery Fund’s Awards For All scheme to secure more than £9,500.
This money will be used to install a new swing and other play equipment within Mayflower’s play area in Ingram Road.
Youngsters from the area were involved in the actual bid - and were even asked to pick their preferred equipment provider.
Boston Mayflower’s Marketing and Research Officer Nathan Black was one of those involved in securing the money.
He said: “We were delighted to be successful with our application, which will give children in Boston more play equipment to enjoy for years to come.
“Having asked young people themselves to vote on the type of equipment they wanted most we can honestly say they are getting what they want.
“They even chose the exact spot where the equipment should be installed!”
The installation of the play equipment will include wet pour surfacing - a strong base that enables children to play within a safer environment.
The Big Lottery Fund’s Awards For All scheme makes cash awards of between £300 and £10,000 to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need.
