Mayflower Announces Neighbourhood Fund

Friday 25th March 2011
BOSTON Mayflower is offering money to worthy projects which can improve areas in and around the town.
Boston's biggest provider of social housing aims to improve environments in which people live.
Mayflower's Community Development Officer Paul Kenny called upon local people to get involved in picking the winning bidders.
He said: "Our Let's Talk survey showed how important people's areas are to them.
"Residents want a clean, safe place to live.
"With our new Neighbourhood Fund people have the chance to make a difference to their environment.
"Up to £750 can be given by us to make ideas real. We will let the local community decide on the winning bids."
Examples of proposals considered include:
• Purchasing of equipment - e.g. benches, litter bins or signage
• A voluntary service requiring a 'start up' grant
• Sponsorship for a 'grot spot' clean-up campaign
Mayflower also welcomes applications to provide part funding for appropriate projects where other funding sources are available to meet the full cost.
All entries will be checked by Mayflower and shortlisted
by its Area Panels.
