MP visits refurbished Milton Court, Doncaster
|
| Wednesday 24th February 2010 |
Residents living in sheltered accommodation in Doncaster who have just seen their building revamped, have shown off the work to Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton.
Residents living at Milton Court have recently seen their home refurbished by St Leger Homes of Doncaster – the organisation that manages around 21,000 homes for Doncaster Council.
Staff from St Leger Homes, who manage the buildings, have carried out a range of work including fitting four new bathrooms, created a laundry room with new washing machines, upgraded lighting, decorated and are currently installing a new kitchen.
Milton Court is made up of 15 flats for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) service users and further flats for older residents who are not service users. RDaSH specialist staff are based within the complex. They provide mental health service users with housing management support, mental health monitoring, together with opportunities for developing and relearning life skills.
Rosie said: “I was delighted to have been invited by tenants of Milton Court to visit them and see the improvements carried out by St Leger Homes, which they tell me have made a real difference.”
Resident Jason Lyne (33) said: “The work is brilliant and all the workers have done a great job. They are really nice people and Milton Court is so much nicer and brighter.” |
