Information Roadshow Meets Local Tenant Needs

Tuesday 24th November 2009
Housing association tenants in Wednesbury were able to have their say on improvement and maintenance priorities for their homes and listen to advice on how to go green at a roadshow organised by Black Country Housing Group.

Held at the Central Methodist Church in Spring Head, residents living in BCHG's 62 properties in the area also discussed their own housing needs and requirements with staff.

Tenants contributed to the Group's planned maintenance programme and registered their interest in becoming more actively involved in BCHG business in line with its policy of involving residents in decision making.

Visitors to the roadshow were further given advice on cutting fuel bills and how to reduce their own carbon footprint.

The bumper event also included the presentation of a free kettle to the first ten visitors and entry to a prize draw to win shopping vouchers.

Ramesh Malhan, BCHG's Head of Housing, said: "The roadshow allowed much closer dialogue with our residents and we listened very closely to what people had to say. Everyone who attended enjoyed the event and we've already had very positive feedback."
