Gentoo Sunderland continue to increase tenant satisfaction

Gentoo Sunderland is providing an excellent service, according to its customers.

The Registered Social Landlord conducted a regulated standardised tenant satisfaction survey, producing excellent results.

Ian Porter, Managing Director of Gentoo Sunderland said: “It is fantastic to see the results of this independent survey of our customers have shown an increase in their satisfaction with our services.

“We constantly strive to improve the services we offer to our customers, and it is a great achievement for our hardworking staff to be rewarded for their efforts with these excellent results.”

2,950 postal surveys were sent out to a representative sample of Gentoo tenants, with a total of 1,420 surveys returned. The overall satisfaction result from those who returned the survey was 83.8% with 80.6% satisfied with the repairs and maintenance service Gentoo offer. The results have also placed Gentoo in the top 25% of landlords across England for taking customers views in to account.

The survey consists of 43 questions and must be carried out at least every three years. There is a nationally set method for selecting samples, conducting the survey and collating and analysing the results. Satisfaction statistics from three of the set questions are then reported to the Tenants Service Authority for national benchmarking. Gentoo also use the information from the survey to develop new and existing services.

To ensure independence the Northern Housing Consortium was contracted to collate and analyse the results of the surveys on behalf of Gentoo.

The number of returned surveys represent an overall response rate of 48.1% which is a valid sample return . A prize draw incentive was also offered to anyone completing the survey, giving them the opportunity to win £200 worth of shopping vouchers.

A lucky customer from Grindon was the prize winner and requested that her prize be donated to a children’s charity.
