Howard Farrand, chief executive of west midlands housing organisation West Mercia Housing Group, has moved on to pursue other interests.
Howard, former chief executive of Coventry-based Whitefriars Housing Group and 2009/10 president of the Chartered Institute of Housing, took the top position at West Mercia Housing Group in 2008 when Whitefriars joined West Mercia.

Under Howard’s leadership the group created a specialism for working with other organisations to provide training and employment opportunities for local residents.
In addition, under his leadership Whitefriars has developed expertise to become a nationally respected regeneration organisation, working to regenerate both north east Coventry and north Solihull.
Pat Brandum has taken over as group chief executive.
Roger Griffiths, group chairman of West Mercia Housing Group, said: “Howard has been tireless in his commitment to Whitefriars and latterly to West Mercia and it has been a pleasure to work with him.
“Over the years he has displayed both foresight and strong leadership. Howard has promoted West Mercia since becoming chief executive and has ensured that the group is a highly respected regional force that continues to fight for people to have pride in where they live.”
West Mercia Housing Group owns and manages approximately 23,500 homes across Coventry, Birmingham, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and the west midlands. |
