Decent Homes Partnership Branching Out to Improve Sandwell
|
| Tuesday 28th July 2009 |
The Sandwell Decent Homes Partnership has been gifted an Oak tree sapling by ‘Business in the Community’ to celebrate its collaborative approach to improving social housing in the borough. Sandwell has recently been hailed as home to one of the most forward thinking and innovative public and private partnerships in the region.
Sandwell Homes, Taylor Woodrow, Lovell Partnerships, Wates Living Space, Connaught Partnerships, Sandwell MBC Urban Design, Rider Levett Bucknall and Thomas Vale Construction all received the award collectively to recognise their 'Power in Partnership'.
The accolade is awarded to businesses able to demonstrate significant impact and high-quality management of projects as well as making a positive impact both on society and the business.
The Partnership is responsible for rolling out £425 million worth of Decent Homes improvements to properties in Sandwell by 2012.
Stephen Howard, chief executive for Business in the Community said: “Those who achieve the award are leading companies, ones that run their businesses aware that they depend above all on the talent, innovation and loyalty of their people. They know that they cannot build a successful sustainable business without constantly showing their commitment to being a better business.”
The BITC awards are the UK’s most influential, independent, peer-assessed corporate responsibility awards. Which are seen by many as an opportunity for UK plc to recognise those who are leading the way in responsible business. |
