Casey takes up new role as Development Director
|
| Tuesday 26th February 2008 |
PAUL Casey has been made development director at Derby-based housing provider Derwent Living.
Having been with Derwent Living for 12 years and worked as both business development manager and head of development, Paul takes up his new role as development director this month (jan) replacing Carl Larter.
Paul said: "Derwent Living has a reputation for being dynamic in the way it approaches housing provision and is unique in much of what it has achieved.
"The future challenges facing housing are clear and I believe that Derwent Living has an important and promising role to play in the provision of affordable housing and sustainable communities."
Paul believes that the role of development director will adapt to the changing market place over the coming years.
"It is expected that we will be in for more turbulent times than we have had for a number of years, but I can see continued growth in affordable housing which is very much on the Government's agenda," he said.
"RSLs will be required to provide 157,000 new affordable homes nationally over the next three years, and I want to make sure that Derwent Living gets its share of that."
Derwent Living will continue to grow, said Paul, and key areas will be the affordable housing market and potential joint ventures with developers, together with growth into the elderly care market place.
"I will be continuing the good work led by Carl over the past few years, and will be building on Derwent Living's recent growth and diversification in other areas of business in order to support our social housing portfolio," he added. "We need to continue our consistency and drive to continue to be a successful organisation."
John Martin, Derwent Living chief executive, said: "Paul has been with Derwent Living for a number of years and is well known in the housing industry. We are delighted he has taken up this new role."
Paul, a life-long Arsenal fan, lives in Nottingham with his family. |
