The Board of Carr-Gomm, having consulted with clients and staff, chose Sanctuary as its preferred partner as it believes the Group is best placed to safeguard the interests of its existing clients and staff and ensure a more secure future.
Sanctuary Group has brought together its supported housing activities with those of Carr-Gomm under the name ‘Sanctuary Carr-Gomm’ to create a stronger, more comprehensive provider of high quality supported housing services to over 6,500 vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
Sanctuary Carr-Gomm provides specialist support and accommodation for a wide group of people whose needs cannot be met in general needs accommodation. This includes the homeless, those with mental ill-health issues or learning disabilities, teenage parents and babies and those experiencing drug and alcohol problems or domestic abuse.
Gary Lashko, formerly the Chief Executive of Carr-Gomm, will be responsible for leading and managing the operations of this part of Sanctuary Group’s activities as Sanctuary Carr-Gomm’s Director of Supported Living.
Gary said: “This is a new chapter in Carr-Gomm’s life. Joining Sanctuary will enable us to deliver a greater range of high quality services that will benefit a diverse range of clients.
“Carr-Gomm has over 45 years’ experience of supporting vulnerable people, which together with Sanctuary’s financial strength and national experience, creates an exciting new partnership that gives a firm base to deliver positive outcomes for clients, stakeholders and commissioners alike.”
David Bennett, Sanctuary Group’s Chief Executive said: “Our supported housing visions are very much aligned so we are delighted to be welcoming Carr-Gomm to Sanctuary Group.
“Carr-Gomm has established an excellent reputation in the supported housing sector and I believe that by combining our strategic and financial strength with Carr-Gomm’s knowledge and expertise we will undoubtedly achieve greater business efficiencies and improved services, bringing fresh benefits and opportunities to all our clients.” |
