Beth Johnson help to stamp out bullying

Beth Johnson Housing Association has helped three schools with an anti-bullying campaign by purchasing books which teaches children about the damaging effects of this type of behaviour.

The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain (PCCGB) introduced the Barney and Echo books to support teachers and parents in addressing bullying and vandalism issues among primary school children.

And Beth Johnson Housing Association has purchased the books for classes in three schools - Christchurch CE Primary School in Fenton, Etruscan Primary School in Etruria and Oakfield Primary School in Crewe - to make children aware of the issues.

The children have already received the educational books and will also be presented with anti-bullying wristbands by Beth Johnson staff.

Julia Brook, Beth Johnson assistant manager, tenancy services, said: "We really wanted to support the anti-bullying campaign in order to send out a message to the children in our local community about the dangers of bullying and the consequences of vandalism. The books are a useful resource for the teachers at the schools to assist them in highlighting these issues and to support those children affected by bullying. We are pleased to be involved in this campaign and to work with the younger members of the community. "
