|
| Tuesday 15th June 2010 |
An event was held to mark the official opening of six new family homes in Weston-super-Mare by Knightstone Housing Association in partnership with North Somerset Council.
The development in Stock Close has created six new family homes for affordable rent. The new homes built by Beaconsfield Homes were funded with a mixture of government funding from the Homes and Communities Agency, North Somerset Council and funding raised by Knightstone.
The opening took place on Friday 11th June, conducted by Roz Willis, Vice Chair of Adult Social Services and Housing at North Somerset Council, along with Stewart Wright, Chairman of Knightstone Housing Association.
Mike Day, Knightstone's Development Director, said "We were keen to add to our existing developments in Weston to provide much-needed affordable housing, especially in such a well established residential area so we're delighted to officially open this scheme."
The opening event also celebrated the completion of six new homes close by in Locking Castle built by Fisher and Deane. A further 7 homes on the site are due for completion in August.
Jay Lambe, HCA Investment and Regeneration Manager, said: "These new homes are good news for the area and are a clear demonstration of how the work of all the partners involved is delivering results that local communities can benefit from.
"I hope the residents of Stock Close will be very happy in their new homes." |
