A 'grand' start for Luminus
|
| Saturday 30th January 2010 |
Luminus, the region's premier community housing provider, will soon begin transforming the former Ramsey Grand into housing and facilities for the wider community to enjoy.
Bourne-based builder FE Peacock has secured the contract to deliver the project, which aims to be completed in 2011.
The new building will incorporate a library learning centre, a range of services for children and young people, a community information centre and some much needed high quality housing. The 22 apartments and 2 houses are designed to be highly energy efficient, benefitting the environment and the tenants through lower energy bills.
FE Peacock managing director Karl Hick commented,
"FE Peacock is delighted to have secured a contract to redevelop the former Ramsey Grand and we look forward to beginning work on site. The redevelopment will provide local residents with facilities that they can enjoy, as well as good quality housing."
Chan Abraham, Luminus Group Chief Executive said, "In 2010, our Year of Renewing Hope and Inspiration, the transformation of the former Ramsey Grand into a modern and dynamic facility for the Ramsey community to use is an exciting and important project. Luminus is committed to providing the highest quality affordable homes and the 22 apartments and 2 houses will help meet demand in Ramsey with sustainable, energy efficient and beautifully designed homes." |
