A New Era as Progress Housing Group and New Fylde Housing Launch Partnership
|
| Friday 3rd April 2009 |
Progress Housing Group and New Fylde Housing have launched a partnership that will see £45m worth of investment in local communities and 320 new homes delivered across the Fylde coast. The partnership received formal approval from the Tenant Services Authority at the beginning of March following an eight month consultation and due diligence process between the two organisations.
Progress Housing Group's Chief Executive, Jacqui De-Rose, said,"This is a great opportunity for both PHG and NFH; we are committed to delivering a number of significant promises to tenants through the partnership. We believe these will ensure we continue to achieve high satisfaction levels and a real focus on the needs of our customers and neighbourhoods."
Along with the investment of 320 new homes, the partnership, which began on April 1, will see £1.5 million invested in New Fylde Housing's existing homes and a £1.5 million fund established for community activities and other projects throughout the Group. Although joining a larger Group, New Fylde will maintain its local presence with the retention of existing staff and a local office, Warwick House. New Fylde will also retain its current Board. Homes will remain locally managed, a local apprenticeship scheme will be developed to link into Progress Housing Group's existing apprentice scheme; in addition, a Property Services depot will be expanded at Warwick House.
Phillip Jones, Progress Group Chair said,"We believe that by working together we can create a stronger organisation; one which is able to deliver even better services to local people."
Throughout both organisations tenants will see improved customer service with an increase in tenant involvement opportunities and raised customer service standards. Chair of New Fylde Housing, Paul Rigby said,"Our partnership with Progress offers a natural strategic fit with New Fylde. This provides the opportunity to deliver life changing services in our local region."
Tenants have been kept fully involved and informed of all developments over the past eight months and both organisations have received positive and enthusiastic feedback throughout the partnership process. Marion Cunningham, Chair of the New Fylde Housing Resident's Forum said,"This partnership will offer a great deal of new and improved services to tenants. We are very pleased with this and with the opportunities that tenants will have to influence the services provided in our communities." |
