Dominic Grieve, MP for Beaconsfield, visited an Asra Midlands care home on Thursday, 26th February, to see first hand the services provided to residents.
Mr Grieve, along with Martin Traynor, Group Managing Director of Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce, and Jaspal Minhas, President of Leicester Asian Business Association (LABA), met with staff and residents during a tour of Asra House in Leicester.
The Shadow Justice Secretary and Shadow Attorney General, who has a strong interest in black minority and ethnic issues, was keen to see the work Asra Midlands, a subsidiary of leading UK housing provider Sanctuary Group, does with minority groups.
He said: "I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit Asra House and discuss with staff the housing needs of all the communities which Asra Midlands serves.
“It is a wonderful example of community cohesion in action and I was impressed by the whole enterprise and energy of all those I met."
Vijay Asi, Asra Midlands managing director, added: “I hope Dominic found the visit a useful experience and enabled him to see the excellent facilities on offer to our residents and the work we are doing at the home.” |
