Yarlington Homes is a subsidiary company of South Somerset Homes, which will build new homes for sale on the open market. The sites will be mixed tenure with some houses sold, some offered as shared ownership and some rented to tenants of South Somerset Homes. This company will operate within a group structure with South Somerset Homes as the parent company.
These homes will be targeted at prospective buyers, people who would be looking at the two or three bedroom semi detached or terraced houses on sites of national builders. These could be professional/ blue collar young couples, young families etc. who want to get onto the property ladder at the lower end of the market.
The organisation is in a fairly unique position that most of the new homes will be built on the existing land that it will redevelop. An example of this would be a site with 6 three bedroom concrete houses with huge gardens, which would look to redevelop to 13 two/three bedroom houses with adequate gardens and parking. |
