 General Information / Background
Willow Park Housing Trust is a registered social landlord and a charity, owning and managing nearly 8000 homes in East Wythenshawe. The Trust was established to transform housing conditions in the area, and support the regeneration of this dynamic and rapidly changing part of Manchester. It is a customer-focused organisation and this is reflected in the number of tenants who are members of the board and the high levels of customer satisfaction and positive feedback received.

The Trust is a not-for-profit company and a charity. The Board is made up of Tenant, City Council and Independent voluntary directors. The Trust employs over 300 people, including our in-house Building Services team, CCTV monitoring and Neighbourhood Wardens.

Established in 1999, Willow Park works hard with its partners and the local community to make Wythenshawe a desirable place to live. To date, Willow Park has invested over £140m in improvements to services, the environment and home improvements - including installing new kitchens, bathrooms and double-glazed windows. The Trust has now begun improvements to homes and services for tenants in Woodhouse Park, following their transfer in October 2004. Local people are also benefiting from the training and job opportunities provided by the Trust, and Willow Park is a key partner in a wide range of regeneration initiatives.

Following its inspection in February 2004, the Audit Commission awarded the Trust a '3 star' top rating for maintaining and improving homes, the first such rating in the North of England. It stated that Willow Park '…has made a dramatic difference to the Wythenshawe area - in particular in tackling the issues of low demand and making Willow Park a place where people want to live.'
