Westlea was set up in 1995 to take over and improve homes previously owned by North Wiltshire District Council. We now work throughout Wiltshire and Swindon and provide over 6,000 homes to people with a range of housing needs, particularly those who cannot afford to rent or buy property on the open market.
Westlea's work is overseen by a Management Board that includes elected resident members. Resident and user involvement is central to what we do and a new set of guidelines was introduced in 2005 to ensure this happens in a meaningful way.
We employ more than 300 staff at our head office in Chippenham, including a team who carry out most of the repairs to our homes. The day to day operation of Westlea is managed by a chief executive and two executive directors. They are responsible to the Management Board for the efficient running of all aspects of our business.
We work hard to expand our provision of new homes and other services to meet continuing demand in our area. We develop new homes for rent, shared ownership and - through our commercial subsidiary - homes for sale.
Westlea is an enthusiastic adopter of the ‘iN business for neighbourhoods’ initiative and is an organisation that has clear and strong values that shape what we do and how we do it. We aim for service excellence, quality, professionalism, fairness and accountability. We work in partnership with residents, staff, our local authority partners, funders and our regulator to achieve our aims and objectives. |
