The Vegetarian Housing Association enables vegetarians and vegans to live their later years in peace and comfort, in homes provided specially for them. Conventional retirement homes offer neither the special dietary needs nor the companionship of like-minded people.
Formed in 1962, the VHA is a non profit-making organisation with charitable status. Residents of our homes pay a rental charge which includes all services. As nursing care is not provided, residents must be able to look after themselves.
At the turn of the millennium, there were more than 4 million vegetarians in the UK. The VHA aims to provide accommodation for the ever-increasing number of people who share the vegetarian way of life. |
