Teesdale Housing Association was formed in July 2006 following the Large Scale Voluntary Transfer of the housing stock from Teesdale Council. Together with Endeavour Housing Association, it became part of the North Star Housing Group.
Teesdale HA is constituted as an Industrial and Provident Society with Charitable Rules. The governing body is the Board of Management, which is made up entirely of volunteer members and comprises individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and professions, including tenants of the Association. The Board comprises of 15 members, 5 are representatives nominated by Teesdale District Council, 5 are independent members of the local business community and 5 are tenants.
Teesdale HA owns about 900 properties spread across Teesdale including one sheltered scheme located in Staindrop. Most of the properties are located in Cockfield, Evenwood and Etherley with the rest being pepper-potted across the rural part of the district. There are a small number of properties in Barnard Castle. |
