Tees Valley Housing has moved on significantly since the creation of the Tees Valley Housing Association from the merger of Cleveland and Teesside Housing Association and Phoenix Housing Association in 1996, and the subsequent formation of Tees Valley Housing Group. The Group, prior to joining Fabrick, included Banks of the Wear Housing Association, with property holdings primarily in Sunderland and Newcastle, and Tees Valley Trust Ltd which specialised in supported and sheltered housing across the Group, as well as leading the Group’s community investment initiatives.
On 1 April 2008, Tees Valley Housing became a partner in the Fabrick Housing Group that brings together Erimus Housing and Tees Valley Housing Ltd. In total, the Group manages nearly 15,000 housing units. Tees Valley Housing continues as a separate company within the Group managing over 4,000 homes and with an ambitious development programme. Fabrick provides strategic direction to the Group, and financial, corporate and development services to the partner companies.
Tees Valley Housing itself is primarily concerned with the provision of affordable housing across a number of different forms such as:
* Affordable rents
* Shared ownership
* Shared equity
* Intermediate market rents |
