Sussex Housing & Care (SHC) is a charitable housing association, founded in 1946 to make a positive difference to the lives of older people in Sussex. Our name has changed a few times since, recently being known as Sussex Housing Association for the Aged. Our very first Annual Report stated that our objects were ‘to provide for the housing needs and welfare of old people on the widest scale’. We are a charity and all surpluses are used to provide additional facilities for our residents.
SHC is committed to respecting and responding to the long-term needs of each individual, to ensure all our Residents are happy and fulfilled within a caring, stimulating and safe environment.
At SHC, we pride ourselves on the dedication and commitment of our staff to provide our Residents with the best quality of life for as long as they need us.
SHC has five care homes and 18 housing schemes open to all. Currently we provide accommodation for over 700 people. |
