Somer Community Housing Trust is a company limited by guarantee, a registered social landlord and a registered charity. The Trust is a not-for-profit organisation which means that any surplus income is reinvested within the company in homes and services for the benefit of existing and future residents and communities.
The Trust is a member of the Somer Housing Group. The members of the Group are working together to support successful communities, through the provision of housing, other quality services, and enhanced partnersips.
Somer provides a home for 9,700 households in Bath & North East Somerset, parts of Bristol, Somerset and Wiltshire. It employs 260 staff. It has an annual turnover of £25 million and manages an average investment programme of £13 million a year.
The Trust owns and manages a diverse range of assets including traditionally built houses and flats, system built properties, Grade 1 and Grade 2 Listed Georgian buildings, shops, garages, open spaces and amenities. It provides a wide range of services though its directly employed staff team including housing management, surveying, responsive repairs, sheltered housing, accountancy, IT, personnel, training and a full range of office administration and support services. |
