Shepton Mallet United Charities have eleven properties referred to as alms houses and one property known as the bread rooms. The alms houses are for long term residents of shepton mallet and immediate surrounds, preferably aged over 55 whose circumstances require a move to sheltered accommodation, if younger a higher level of need has to be established.
