Redditch Co-operative Homes exist to provide affordable housing to people in need, by giving you the power to control and manage your future. We are based in Redditch and support 5 neighbourhood Co-operatives that are self managed organisations by the people who live in their homes. Redditch Co-operative Homes through the Co-operatives we work with provides housing from the cradle to the grave. We have a wide range of accommodation. We only house people who are registered with the Council and who are prepared to take an active part in their housing and in building a strong community.
The Co-operatives we work with are:
* Pioneer Housing Co-operative - Who manage 74 homes, 32 one bed flats, 8 two bed flats, 5 two bed houses, 13 three bedroom homes, 11 four bedroom houses and 5 two bed bunglows all the Co-operatives properties are located around the Town Centre.
* Riverside Housing Co-operative - have all their properties in Riverside and Abbeydale and hold their meetings in the Abbeydale Club. The Co-operative have 22 properties with 16 one bedroom homes, 5 two bedroom houses, and 1 three bedroom home.
* Winyates Co-operative - have 38 properties in the Winyates and Matchborough areas. The Co-operative have 10 one bed homes, 8 three bed homes and 20 two bedroom houses. The majority of the Co-operatives properties can be found on Holyoakes Close.
* Breedon Housing Co-operative - manage 55 homes in Lakeside.
* Reddtich Co-operative 2000 manage 48 properties at Rough Hill Drive and others that are scattered around Redditch.
All our Co-operatives are run by the Tenants of our homes and if you were successful in your application to be housed by Redditch Co-operative Homes then you will need to be involved the management of your property.
Being a member of a co-operative means you have all the normal rights of a tenant of a Housing Association (we do not have the right to buy) You have the right to live in your property according to your tenancy agreement in the same way you would with any other landlord. You have the right to a comprehensive repairs/maintenance service, the right to request details about your rent and be informed with due notice of any increase in rent.
A housing Co-operative is only as strong as it’s members. |
