Pioneer Housing Co-operative lettings area roughly covers the Batchley and Central electoral wards of Redditch.It covers the area on the enclosed map. Batchley Ward is comprised of a large Council Estate built to garden city principles.Central Ward covers the Smallwood,Mayfields and the Town Centre areas of the Town.
The office of Redditch Co-operative Homes is situated within the boundary of Pioneer Co-operative.The Co-operatives main developments currently circle the Town Centre.The Co-operative main management areas are Pioneer Close,Union Street,Honeychurch Close,and Stallard Gardens.In addition there are a small number of Bought properties in the Batchley area and a proposed two unit development for Mayfields.
The area of Benefit is currently home to approximately 12,000.In the Central ward 12% of the population is Muslim and there is an higher than Redditch Average for the Muslim population in Batchley.20% of Batchley ward and 17% of Central Ward have a long term illness or disability in comparison to 15% as the average for Redditch as a whole.People are also significantly less likely to have a qualification in the Batchley ward although the reverse is the case for the Central area of the Co-operatives benefit.People living in this Co-operatives area of benefit are less likely to own cars than elsewhere in Redditch.
