Orbit's first Care and Repair agencies were set up in 1988 in response to a growing need for a service which provided practical advice and guidance to vulnerable older home owners and people with disabilities who wished to repair, improve or adapt their homes.
Care and Repair agencies are Home Improvements agencies jointly funded by The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister through Supporting People, Social Services departments, Local Housing authorities and Primary Care Trusts.
Orbit now manages 5 such agencies in Coventry, East Staffordshire, Rugby, Stafford and Norwich .
The agencies support older and disabled people to remain living independently, safe, warm and secure in well maintained and/or adapted homes. |
