We aim to help provide and manage homes throughout rural Northamptonshire for those in housing need who wish to live in the communities where they have grown up, work or have close family ties.
We do this in two ways: by promoting the development of affordable housing for local people, and carefully managing the homes to ensure that they benefit tenants and villages alike.
We actively promote affordable housing projects, mostly on ‘exception sites', sites on the edge of villages that can only be used for affordable housing for local people. Although we do not directly develop homes, we help by:
* Working closely with Midlands Rural Housing, parish councils, district and borough councils and other partners to ensure local needs are assessed and met
* Promoting the work of the Rural Housing Enabler who is the catalyst for the delivery of many new affordable housing schemes in the county
* Using our rural housing experience to enable development opportunities for other housing associations through partnership working
We pride ourselves on providing high quality service to our tenants. Our locally sensitive management approach to rural housing sets us apart from many other associations and is the main reason that other organisations instruct us to manage rural stock on their behalf.
Our primary focus is our tenants and the communities that we serve. We ensure their expectations are exceeded by:
* Working towards the targets set to measure management performance then reporting our results to tenants
* Consulting with our tenants and promoting tenant participation
* Promoting ourselves as a skilled manager of rural housing to local authorities and other housing associations |
