MHA is a specialist provider of housing, care and support services for older people. Comprising of the charity Methodist Homes together with Methodist Homes Housing Association, the organisation seeks to provide the best possible standard of care and housing within a compassionate, Christian culture. The association has already identified a need to respond to the diverse communities and faiths it works with within its geographical spread and whilst the Christian foundation underpins the ethos and beliefs of the organisation, this does not exclude any other religions or ethnic backgrounds.
Methodist Homes Housing Association was established as a charitable organisation in 1977 to provide housing and support to older people and registered at that time with the Housing Corporation. Methodist Home is a charity established in 1943 to provide accommodation, care and community services for older people. This is not registered with the Housing Corporation. Methodist Homes as the parent company, provides strategic direction, management and central services and was established and registered with the Housing Corporation in 2001, but has no housing stock.
The association’s main office is in Derby, and a regional office provide services on a regional basis in Leeds. There are over 40 sheltered housing schemes providing various levels of support dependent on the category of that scheme. |
