M.H.A. Care Group is a specialist provider of housing, care and support services for older people. Comprising of the charity Methodist Homes for the Aged together with Methodist Homes Housing Association, the organisation seeks to provide the best possible standard of care and housing within a compassionate, Christian culture. The association has already identified a need to respond to the diverse communities and faiths it works with within its geographical spread and whilst the Christian foundation underpins the ethos and beliefs of the organisation, this does not exclude any other religions or ethnic backgrounds.
Methodist Homes Housing Association was established as a charitable organisation in 1977 to provide housing and support to older people and registered at that time with the Housing Corporation. Methodist Homes for the Aged is a charity established in 1943 to provide accommodation, care and community services for older people. This is not registered with the Housing Corporation. MHA Care Group, as the parent company, provides strategic direction, management and central services and was established and registered with the Housing Corporation in 2001, but has no housing stock.
The association’s main office is in Derby, and four regional offices provide services on a regional basis in Leeds, Luton, Bristol and Ellesmere Port. There are 29 sheltered housing schemes providing various levels of support dependent on the category of that scheme, and are managed by the relevant regional office. |
