Medina Housing Association (MHA) owns and manages almost 3,000 homes on the Isle of Wight. This is mainly general needs housing for rent but also includes sheltered housing, a Leasehold Scheme for the Elderly and a Foyer for young people. The Isle of Wight is an area of high housing need, and to help meet this demand there are a further 400 new homes in the development pipeline.
MHA is registered with the Housing Corporation - a body set up by the Government to fund, monitor and regulate housing associations. MHA’s registration number is L3900.
MHA is run by a Management Board of skilled and experienced people which includes three tenant representatives. The Management Board meets regularly to plan and review the Association’s work.
Its approach to service delivery is underpinned by a Neighbourhood Strategy and to a commitment to working in partnership with residents and local stakeholders to create places where people choose to live, work and play. Other key aspects of the work include an objective to ensure all the homes meet the Government’s Decent Homes Standard by 2010, a commitment to equality and embracing diversity, and the delivery of services to Quality Housing Service standards. |
