“Maidstone Housing Trust exists to provide affordable homes and to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.”
Formed in February 2004, Maidstone Housing Trust is Maidstone's largest social landlord. We are a Registered Social Landlord. We are a non-profit making, charitable organisation, registered with the Housing Corporation, and a company registered with Companies House.
The Trust owns and manages 6,154 homes, 55 commercial properties and 1177 garages. The housing team is responsible for the management of theses tenancies on a day to day basis. This includes investigations into allegations of neighbour nuisance, rent arrears management, arranging transfers and tenant liaison.
Unpaid volunteers serve as non-executive Directors on our Board, made up of tenants or leaseholders, independents, and Maidstone Borough Councillors. They are jointly responsible for governing the Trust’s activities, and overall strategy and direction of the Trust. The Trust is a member of the National Housing Federation (NHF) and has adopted the NHF’s Code of Governance, requiring the highest standards of governance, accountability and probity in everything we do. Our compliance with the Code of Governance is reviewed annually. |
