Longhurst Homes is widely recognised as one of the leading housing associations in the East Midlands. Registered with the Housing Corporation in 1971 as a not-for-profit housing association, we have over 30 years housing experience. We have expanded from managing approximately 800 homes in 1987 to 4,600 in 2002.
We now work in nearly 30 local authority areas in Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, and provide services to approximately 15 agencies.
Like the majority of housing associations, we work under the control of a voluntary unpaid Board of Management, which is made up of tenants, Councillors and independent people who have the required skills and knowledge.
Longhurst's activities are varied. As well as our general needs stock, around a quarter of the overall stock is for older people. |
